Our Mission
RN-HLDI Stands to provide for survival, protection, social harmony and development of all people in Tanzania Mainland by addressing any conditions that threaten their physical and civil life and hinder socio-economic development targeting the marginalized community and vulnerable groups.
Our Vision
Human Life Defence Department envisions a community in which human life and development are guaranteed, the dignity of human person is respected and people are free from all dehumanizing conditions.

HLDD was re-registered as a National NGO in Tanzania in compliance with the 2019 amendments to the NGO Act, with the organization’s name transitioning to HLDI.
Established and expanded Women and Land Rights Project and Menstrual Health and Hygiene to public secondary schools in Biharamulo District
Established and expanded Women and Land Rights Project and Menstrual Health and Hygiene to public secondary schools in Biharamulo District
Expanded Civic Education and good governance project and Food security and resilience project
Expanded Civic Education and good governance project and Food security and resilience project
Expanded Civic Education and good governance project and Food security and resilience project
Established and launched a four years project on Civic Education and good governance in Biharamulo district, Kagera Region
Established and launched a three years project on Food security and resilience in parts of Biharamulo District
Justice and Peace Department and Chema Department of Rulenge Ngara Catholic Diocese were merged to form Human Life Defence Department (HLDD) under the auspice of the Rt. Rev. Bishop Severine Niwemugizi, the Bishop of Rulenge Ngara Catholic
